Abstract

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the best of creation, his family, and all his companions. This study aims to clarify the virtues of Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and how they have been exploited by those with ulterior motives. It also addresses the amount of doubts raised regarding the texts related to the subject and attempts to tackle the issues arising from the meanings of the derived hadith. The researcher employed an inductive and analytical approach in this study by tracing, discussing, and analyzing the narrations. The researcher divided this study into two sections: Chapter One: the hadith is studied from the perspective of narration, discussing its text, supporting evidence, strange aspects, its narrators, its sourcing, wording, and benefits. Chapter Two: the hadith is examined from the perspective of understanding, presenting some controversial issues related to it, such as Fatimah's anger, her infallibility, the ruling on insulting her, and the ruling on polygamy concerning her and her descendants, among other matters. The truth in these issues is clarified based on what appeared to the researcher. The study concluded with the following:

  • The family of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) possesses virtues and merits that can only be denied by a denier or a stubborn person; including Al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her).
  • Clarifying how some ill-intentioned individuals have misused the texts regarding the virtues of Fatimah for their own benefit for various reasons.
  • That the methodology of the Ahl al-Sunnah is generally a moderate approach in terms of understanding and reasoning, with explanation and clarification, and an effort to gather texts and interpret them in the best possible way, while defending the honorable companions from accusations made by certain deviant sects.

The study also recommended a deeper examination of the texts and understanding them correctly in accordance with the principles and objectives of Sharia, as well as paying attention to and reviewing studies focused on purifying the heritage from what is not appropriate regarding the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his noble companions.
