Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the relationship between intolerance and the tendency towards citizenship, as well as to identify the spread of intolerance and the tendency towards citizenship among the sample of the current research and the differences between the upper and lower groups in intolerance, as well as to identify the prediction of intolerance and the tendency towards citizenship among students of the College of Education / Sabr / University of Aden The study sample consisted of (174) male and female students, then they were chosen randomly, representing (12%) of the total study population of (1109) male and female students, including (128) males and (46) females.
The researcher used a questionnaire of intolerance consisting of (56) items prepared by the researcher, and a questionnaire of attitude towards citizenship, which consisted of (26) items prepared by Mahyoubi and Abubal (2014). The tools are valid and reliable to conduct the current research
The researcher also used the t-test for one sample in order to find the difference between the arithmetic mean and the hypothetical mean of the research sample on the identification of prejudice, as well as on the identification of attitude towards citizenship and the t-test for two independent samples to find the difference between the upper and lower group in intolerance on the scale of attitude towards citizenship and progressive multiple regression in order to identify the variables The independent (gender, place of residence, and political affiliation) is the most predictive and contributor to fanaticism and a tendency toward citizenship.
The result showed a positive (direct) relationship with statistical significance between intolerance and the tendency towards citizenship.

  • There is a statistically significant difference between the arithmetic mean of the sample and the hypothetical mean of the intolerance scale in favor of the arithmetic mean of the sample, meaning that there is intolerance among the students included in the current research.
  • There is a statistically significant difference between the arithmetic mean of the sample and the hypothetical arithmetic mean of the measure of attitude toward citizenship in favor of the arithmetic mean of the sample, meaning that there is a trend toward citizenship among the students covered in the current research.
  • There is a statistically significant difference between the average degrees of the tendency towards citizenship among students with high intolerance and students with low intolerance in favor of students with high intolerance.
  • There is a greater contribution to predicting intolerance with statistical significance among students of the College of Education / Sabr / University of Aden in favor of gender (males - females), while place of residence (city - countryside) and political affiliation did not contribute )I belong - I don't belong(
  • There is more contribution to predicting the trend towards citizenship with a statistical significance among the students of the College of Education / Sabr / University of Aden in favor of the place of residence. Gender (male - female) and political affiliation (belong - not belong) did not contribute.
