The study aimed to investigate the effect of using the Karen Teaching Model on the acquisition of general teaching competencies and academic achievement among students of the Faculty of Education، Aden. To achieve this aim، the two researchers formulated the following two hypotheses:
- There is no statistically significant difference at the (α = 0.05) level between the mean scores of the study sample in general teaching competencies before and after the experiment.
- There is no statistically significant difference at the (α = 0.05) level between the mean scores of the study sample in academic achievement before and after the experiment.
The researchers adopted a quasi-experimental design، with the study sample consisting of 20 students (2 males and 18 females). The study instruments were administered both before and after the intervention to measure the effect of the independent variable (the Karen model) on the dependent variables (general teaching competencies and academic achievement). Data were collected using a teaching-performance observation checklist and an achievement test. The results indicated that the Karen model was effective in acquiring essential teaching competencies among students and enhancing their performance in the course. Based on these findings، the researchers offered several recommendations and suggestions to further strengthen the model’s effectiveness in the educational process.
