THE EFFECT OF USING THE ELECTRONIC MIND MAPS THAT CAUSE DIRECT AND DEFERRED ACHIEVEMENT OF THE SIXTH GRADE STUDENTS IN THE SCIENCE SUBJECT AND THEIR MOTIVATION TOWARDS IT

Abstract

The current study aimed at investigating the effect of using the electronic mind maps that cause direct and deferred achievement of the sixth grade students in the Science Subject in the Aden governorate,. The sample consisted of (14) students in a primary school. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the achievement test and lessons plans were designed for this purpose, and the motivation scale towards the science subject was used prepared by (Bakader, 2019). Results of the study showed that:

  • There was a significant statistical difference at level (α = 0.05) among the students' average mean scores of the experimental group in the pre-test and the deferred of the direct test achievement and the motivation measurement towards the science subject in the favor of the deferred. 
  • There was a significant statistical difference at level (α = 0.05) among the students' average mean scores of the experimental group in implementation of the direct and the deferred achievement test  in the favor of the deferred 
  • Therefore, there is higher level effect of the electronic mind maps on the students' achievement and their motivation towards the science subject.

The current study recommended a number of recommendations, and the most important one was that the importance of the teachers' training on the suitable teaching strategies  before and during the practice, such as the electronic mind maps.
