THE PRACTICE LEVEL OF TEACHING STAFF OF THE FACULTIES OF EDUCATION (ADEN AND SABER) UNIVERSITY OF ADEN FOR THE STRATEGIES OF AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT FROM THEIR POINT OF VIEW

The study aimed at investigating the practice level of the staff in the scientific departments of the Faculties of Education (Aden and Saber) University of Aden for the strategies of authentic assessment from their point of view. The researcher used the descriptive curriculum because it is suitable to achieve the goal of the study. The tool of the study represented by a questionnaire, where this scale includes five main areas, namely: (performance-based assessment strategy, pen and paper strategy, observation assessment strategy, communication strategy, and self-revision strategy). The sample of study Consisted of (60) members of the teaching staff in the faculties of education (Aden and Saber).
The results of the study showed that the percentage of the previous knowledge of the strategies of authentic assessment for the teaching staff in science departments in the faculties of education (Aden and Saber) is 45.0%. The average of the teaching staff level in practicing the authentic assessment strategies in general was medium, and so for the average of their practice of performance-based assessment strategy and observation assessment strategy and communication strategy, On the contract, the average of their practice the pen and paper strategy is higher. However, the average of their practice self-revision strategy was poor. Also there is no statistical significance differences among the average estimates in the members of the sample in their practice for the strategies of the authentic assessment attributing to the educational experience and qualification, type of faculty variables. In the light of findings, the researcher offered number of recommendations, most notably: training the teaching staff to use the strategies of authentic assessment and their tools.
