A COMPARATIVE ANALYTICAL STUDY FOR THE DOCUMENT STRUCTURE OF SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM BETWEEN YEMEN AND UAE –CURRICULUM OF HISTORY, GRADE SIX AS A MODEL

This study aims at analysis the document structure of social studies curriculum in Yemen compared to the curriculum document of national education and social studies in UAE – curriculum of History for grade six as model. To achieve this objective the researcher used the descriptive curriculum with the survey pattern – the style of comparative documental analysis through the qualitative analysis for both curriculum documents in the two countries, and comparing them. Set of inquiries were placed and answered by a comparative analytical presentation the curriculum document of social studies in Yemen and the curriculum document of national education and social studies in UAE in respect of: the general framework organizing the curriculum, the educational approach for the social studies, and the curriculum of History subject for grade six. The study reaches principal conclusions focusing on the curriculum document of social studies in Yemen, the most important are: Presence of some deficiencies in the document structure of social studies for the basic education in Yemen such as: the lack of features in the graduate of basic education, principles of organizing the curriculum, social studies fields. The study presented recommendations, the most important are: Yemeni Ministry of Education - the institutions concerned with the curricula – is recommended to develop the curriculum document of social studies in the basic education in Yemen through incorporating in it the features of graduate of basic education, principles of curriculum organization, social studies fields.
