PARENTAL ABUSE AND ITS RELATIONSHIP TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AMONG ADOLESCENTS

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the level of each of the parental abuse, and the level of domestic violence, and to identify the relationship between parental abuse and domestic violence in adolescents, and to reveal the differences in the scale of parental abuse, and also to reveal the possibility of predicting domestic violence; through parental abuse; The researcher used the correlative descriptive approach, and the research sample consisted of (277) adolescents. To achieve the objectives of the research, answer his questions, and test the validity of his hypotheses; The researcher used the parental abuse scale and the domestic violence scale. The researcher also used the following statistical methods: (T-test for one group, Pearson's correlation coefficient, one-way analysis of variance, graded multiple regression analysis and the statistical program (SPSS). The researcher reached the following results: There is a statistically significant positive relationship between parental abuse and family violence, and it was found that the level of both parental abuse and family violence among adolescents is low, and there are statistically significant differences on the parental abuse scale due to the parental education variable. And that domestic violence can be predicted by parental abuse.
