The study of intertextuality in the poetry of Deek Al-Jinn Al-Homsi aims to reveal the most important poetic and prose influences, which had a prominent role in shaping the poet’s poetic culture. Tracing intertextuality in his poetry has shown that the religious influence was clearly prominent because the poet was a Shiite. The Shiite poets often try to employ religious discourse to prove their point of view regarding the right of the Family of the Prophet, blessings of Allah and peace be upon him, to the caliphate. They try to employ Qurānic Āyāt (verses) and the Noble Prophet’s Hadith frequently and extensively, as their poetry has a religious color. Likewise, the heritage was present in the poet’s mind while creating his poems. The poet had an Arab culture, which reflected in much of his poetry, whether this culture was prose or poetry. Research into his poetry revealed that he was influenced, sometimes directly and other times indirectly, by the poetry and prose of those who preceded him.
