Abstract

This research aims to identify the impact of a proposed training program on the development of the mathematical power skills by the basic education mathematics teachers in Shabwah Governorate. The researcher used the experimental approach. To achieve the aims of the research, the researcher prepared a training program based on the mathematical power skills (mathematical communication, mathematical interconnection, mathematical Reasoning) and a test of these skills which was applied to the sample before and after the training program, after checking its validity and reliability. The sample of the research was consisted of (12) male and female teachers of mathematics in grade seven of the basic education in Beihan District, in Shabwah Governorate. For analyzing the results, the researcher used the SPSS program. The research concluded that there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the sample of the research in the pre and post-test in the mathematical power skills in general and in each of the mathematical power skills separately, and it is in favour of the post-test, with a highly valuable impact. The researcher recommends that it is necessary to pay attention to apply and develop the mathematical power skills of the basic education teachers of mathematics.
