Abstract

This research aims at remedying the repetition in Abbas bin Mardas's collection of poems and looking into its practical side; this is because it is an ultimate phenomenon in lightening the darkness of the passage and exploring its components. Therefore, I decided to study poetry for Abbas bin Mardas, and I studied it analytically, and I consequently discovered through it the types of repetition in his collection. In fact, that was constituted in the repetition of letters, articles, names, verbs, phrases and figurative images. I finally found that the repetition according to Abbas bin Mardas was a prominent style of his poetry and was of an important benefit in enriching the text in terms of sense and music. Furthermore, it showed a great collaboration in building the poetic text and rooting its unit and increasing the rhythmic rate of the text as well, which gave it a tremendously aesthetic quality. The research had also discovered that the repetition harmonizes clearly with the themes of greatly high reactions, especially in his pride and prudence, and his satire for Khafaf bin Nadabah، and in his praise for prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, in supporting religion.
