EXPLORING INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERSHIP AVAILABILITY: A LEADERSHIP PERSPECTIVE ON THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN FACULTY OF EDUCATION ADEN AND SECONDARY SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION IN ADEN GOVERNORATE

This study aims at knowing the degree of availability of the institutional partnership between the Faculty of Education, Aden, and the secondary school administrations as perceived by the leaderships of the Faculty of Education and the secondary schools in Aden Governorate, and also to find out whether there are any statistically significant differences attributed to the study variables (sex, job, experience). The study used the descriptive methodology which was appropriate to the nature of the study and it employed the questionnaire to achieve its objectives. The most important findings of the study are: the degree of availability of the institutional partnership between the Faculty of Education, Aden, and the secondary school administrations as perceived by the leaderships of the Faculty of Education and the secondary schools in Aden Governorate is weak with a mean of (2.37) and standard deviation (0.419). The degree of availability of partnership between the Faculty of Education and the secondary schools in the domain of teaching is medium with a mean of (2.67) and standard deviation (0.356). In the domain of scientific research, it is weak with a mean of (2.10) and standard deviation (0.584). In the domain of community service, it is weak with a mean of (2.33) and standard deviation (0.492). The findings also show that there are no statistically significant differences between the means of the responses of the participants in all domains of the instrument attributed to the sex variable whereas there are differences in the domain of scientific research and the differences are in favor of the females. There are no statistically significant differences between the means of the responses of the participants in all domains of the instrument due to the job variable while there are differences in the domain of scientific research and they are for the Dean of the Faculty. There are no statistically significant differences between the means of the responses of the participants in all domains of the instrument attributed to the variable of years of experience. The study recommends to conduct a number of studies on the partnership between the institutions of public education and higher education in the Ministry; to establish an educational partnership unit to institutionalize the obligatory partnership between the two parties and allocate divisions for it in the faculties of education and schools; to activate the intellectual and cultural awareness between the public educational institutions and the universities of the importance of partnership and its positive impact through organizing workshops and conferences to encourage partnership and teamwork spirit.
